    T his danger- ous ‘and pain- ful disease is . frequently brought on by expostire to wet or cold weather. Symptoms—There is fever, which often runs high before other symptoms appear, ACUTE pain in one or more joints. The pain, which is particularly agonizing when the patient attempts to move, often changes suddenly from one part. df. the body to another; or from one joint to another. Treatment—At the first symptom of pain or stiffness apply Sloan’s Liniment to the joints. Make applications twice a day, using the Liniment freely. _ necessary, as the Liniment is very pene- bi trating. Dietetic Suggestions—Highly. stimulating Bt foods and drinks,. such as sweet and starchy foods, salty and highly seasoned should be avoided. Let your food be sim- ple, easy of digestion. Avoid such things When fer matism be- _RHEUMATISM comes chron- wa! ic, it is seldom defended by fever, as in acute rheumatism. Too much uric acid in the blood i is the chief cause of this disease. The uric acid forms little crystals, which settle in the Joints where inflammation takes place, and it is this inflammation which causes the excru- ciating pain felt 1n rheumatism. Symptoms-—The joints are often swale. and there is pain, stiffness and lameness in both joints and muscles. Treatment—Apply. Sloan’s Liniment to- the affected parts night and morning. This the inflammation, relieves the stiffness and soreness and quiets the pain. Apply freely but do not rub after the application,
