Constructive ability test quotients indicate that the proportionate mental’ defect of the younger delinquent boys equals that of the older boys. Mental immaturity alone, of course, is not a cause of delinquency, for in that case babies would be the worst offenders. Mental immaturity coupled with ete.—gives the ground-work for misconduct, as these data indi- eate that a given per cent of immaturity is equally operative in tending toward delinquency, no matter the age.
