SIR, Too great length, according to you, in the communi- cntion which I addressed to yon on the subject of your un> warranted, uninformed, and inaccurate statement in connec* tion with my manufactures, haring been made by you a pretext for sabstitating in its place in the pages of your journal, where, if yon had any sense of fairness, it would have appeared, a more lengthy editorial one, reiterating your false assumptions, and the latter manifesting no intention of stating things fairly,—I will, in this letter, avoid complex questions, such as the principles which regulate the prices of proprietary preparations like mine, concerning which you are entirely in the dark, not knowing how to distinguish Iwtween gross and net profits, and confine myself, if possible, to one matter of fact. In reference to your ag- gressive article, I wrote to you, among other things, os follows :— Permit me, in conclusion, to state that your report is altogether at fault in respect to the com- position ofCondy’s Oxonised Water, into which no soda You replied thus:—“ In answer to this we have to remark that the examination was made by one of the first analysts of this country, and we are therefore disinclined to attach any very great im- portance to Mr. Condy’s hints about some previously quite
