    Report of the Pathologist The figures for the Department are as follows: Autopsies, Medical Service . 124 Autopsies, Surgical Service. 96 Total number of autopsies recorded. 220 Reports on surgical specimens. 1,645 Reports on bacteriological specimens . 1,576 Guinea pig inoculations for suspected tubercu¬ losis . 275 Ascheim-Zondek tests . 97 Total . 3,593 The percentage of autopsies for the year, excluding cases taken over by the Medical Examiner, is 74—% for the entire Hospital; for the Medical Service 73—%, Surgical Service 76—%. Changes in the staff in the last year were as follows: Dr. Robert E. Gross succeeded Dr. George M. Hass as Resident Pathologist, September 1, 1934. Dr. David I. Rutledge succeeded Dr. Orville T. Bailey as House Officer, July 1, 1934, for a period of one year. Dr. Darrell Ayer was appointed House Officer, Novem¬ ber 1, 1934. Dr. Frederic W. Rhinelander, 2nd, was appointed volun¬ tary graduate assistant for one year, October 1, 1934. Dr. George M. Hass is now a Junior Fellow of the Society of Fellows in Harvard University. After three years’ work in chemistry and collateral sciences he will resume research work in Pathology. Publications printed during 1934 are: Wolbach, S.
