In addition to the work shewn in tables IV. and V., 928 additional visits were paid to workshops, and 947 to factories, as follows :—-On account of infectious diseases 35 visits were made to workshops and 101 to factories ; for wage enquiry 5 an<^ 8 respectively. Additional visits, 159 and 256 were made for drain and closet inspection ; 21 and 48 for drain testing; 109 and 153 in regard to complaints; 295 and 163 respectively on account of non-abatement of
