Description

The patient reclines on a couch. The physician holds in his right hand a watch and in his left hand the patient's left wrist. Both appear to be playing roles. Pictures from this period of a man taking a man's pulse are so much rarer than pictures of a man taking a woman's pulse that some kind of parody or role reversal may be intended here.
