In the early flage of the dih eafe, the Wort is an excellent afliftant, lubricating and defending the abraded Tides of the inteftinal canal in its paffage. I fhould dwell much longer on its virtues, was I not afraid of trefpaffing too much upon your time. I really confider it as the Slam an s x an ace a, and wifh to fee it introdu¬ ced, not only as a medicine, but alfo to be daily given to thofe hill in health who choofe fo falu- tary a bevciage. I have always added feme brown fugar to the infufion, in the proportion of one pound to three gallons; this quickens it, and lenders it pleafanter, befides coming into every intention of the Wort.
