No text description is available for this image![[ *« ] lie was feized three weeks ago with an acute rheumatifm, accompanied with con- fiderable feverifb fymptoms; for which he was once let blood, and took feveral fudo- rifics, with fo much advantage, that his complaints appeared to be removed in little more than a week. Before the end of the week following, however, he had a relapfe of all his rheumatic fymptoms, although in a lefs degree; fince which they have continued nearly the fame. Ordered to take half an ounce of the tincture of guaiacum this evening, a quar- ter of an ounce of the camphorated tincture of opium to-morrow evening, and half an ounce of the tincture of guaiacum the even- ing following. December u. Each dofe of the tincture of guaiacum proved copioufly fudorific moil; of the night, and produced from four to fix ftools the morning following ; with fo much pointed relief, that the fymptoms are vanish- ed, except fome trifling pains.
