About this work

Description

This a label which would have been applied to a box of the pomade, probably dating from the early 1900s. There is no manufacturer's name but space at the bottom of the front panel for details of the retailer to be overprinted. The label consists of four panels inside green double line borders on white paper. The text is in red and the front panel contains a circular border around the portrait of a smiling young girl with long, dark, ringlets.
