    Fatalities.—There Avere two fatalities (T) A Tamil patient fell down and struck his side against the edge of a latrine and died soon afterwards from a ruptured s])leeu. (2) A Chinese patient was savagely assaulted by a fellow Chinese patient while working in the pig farm and sustained a fractured skull, fractured ribs and a ruptured spleen. He died soon aftei'Avards. There were no suicides. Mental Diseases.—The principal forms of mental disease on transfers Avere: Recent melancholia Recent mania ... Confusional insanity ... Primary dementia direct admissions and 124 90 62 34 There Avere 19 cases of general paralysis of the insane (15 males and 4 females). Farms.—The approximate area under cultivation is 80 acres. A Fordson tractor Avas employed 21,367.28, the principal items being: $13,430.33 2,912.82 2,256.25 1,142.50 343.39 333.75 during j)art of the year. The tractor has capable of ploughing about one acre of lallang a day at an average cost of $14 per acre. proved Anti-Malarial Work.—A mosquito survey was carried out by the Health Department on 28th June, 1920. The folloAving anopheles were found: Maculatus, karwari, rossi, sinensis and feligenosus. A map shoAviug the breeding places Avas prepared and these have been oiled daily. The number of cases of malarial fever wdiicli was large in the third quarter of the year has since diminished. Neio Buildings.—I attach a table showing the buildings completed and nearing completion. Work.—I attach a table showing the quantity and value of the Avork done. Maintenance.—The cost of maintenance Avas $291.73 per head, per annum, as compared with $201.57 in 1919.
