No text description is available for this image![The importance of the disease is considerable, as the debilitated condition sometimes produced by it renders the sufferer more liable to other affections which may easily produce a fatal termination, as was the case at Calabar Prison towards the latter part of the year. Vaccination has been actively carried out during the year, over 76,000 more vaccinations having been performed than in 1911. These have also been attended with a higher percentage of known successes than in either of the two preceding years, as is shown in the following table.
