    the latter working in co-operation with the school nurse provided by the Education Department. As a result of the combination of the Home Nursing and Domiciliary Midwifery Services, one of the Health Visitors was appointed as Superintendent Nursing Officer, supervising the work of the Nurse-Mid wives and Health Visitors, thus leaving at the end of the year six full-time Health Visitors employed by the Authority'. Of these only four are available to undertake all the work connected with attendance at clinics, visits in connection with ante-natal and child welfare work, and visits connected with the aged and the Home Help sendees. In order to carry out all the recommendations outlined in the report on “ Child Health ” drawn up by the Committee on Child Health of the Scottish Health Services Council; the Report of the Standing Advisory' Committee on Local Authority Services “ What Local Authorities Can do to Promote Health and Prevent Disease ” ; and the Report of the Standing Advisory Committee on “ The Ageing Population,” more Health Visitors would require to be appointed. HOME NURSING. In the month of November, the Perth Sick Nursing Society' who acted as the agents of the Town Council in the provision of these services decided to discontinue its function as a voluntary nursing organisation, and as a result the Town Council decided to provide its own nursing services. During the year 584 patients received nursing care, involving a total of 13,464 visits. April and May were the months in which this service was in greatest demand. At the time of writing, proposals for the combining of the home nursing and midwifery services are in the process of being submitted to the Secretary of State for approval.
