About this work

Description

Baron Ilkeston. On the use of the sphygmograph in the investigation of disease. Inter-leaved copy of the printed work, with the author's holograph additions and corrections. Illustrated with small diagrams and figures pasted in. This work originally appeared in the 'British Medical Journal', and this inter-leaved copy was probably written up, with a view to a second edition, of which no record has been traced. With an inserted A.I.s. (5 pp.), dated 7/8/1866, to the author from Etienne Jules Marey [1830-1904]. It refers to his book, and includes a pen-drawing of an 'Atmographe'. Also a typed letter from George Beamish of 'The London Assurance' dated 3/2/1965 to Reginald Hilton, M.D. [1895- ] sending this book and the sphygmograph. Produced in London.
