De rerum natura, half vellum 4to Hain *10283, Proctor 5271. 130 11. roman characters. ‘‘The importance of this copy is due to the fact that it is evidently AVANCIUS’ exemplar, WITH HIS MS. CORRECTIONS WRITTEN IN 1499, and was used as the basis for Aldus’ edition of 1500, which Avancius prepared for the press. Marcus Musurus has also added marginal notes, and copied them on blank sheets at the beginning of the book, doubtless for use in the revised edition of 1515.” These sheets are headed “ Hieronymi Avantii Veronensis Lucretii emendationes.” The marginal notes are cut into, and there is a poorly floriated capital on leaf aii. Leaves Lv and vI and M1 have a small hole through the middle, and the verso of L v1 iN has a piece of blank paper pasted over a large portion, completely Vu hiding the text.
