John Seton (1498 ?-1567) was of St. John’s College, Cambridge, & about 1544 was appointed one of the Chaplains to Gardiner, Bishop of Winchester, to whom the present book is dedicated. He was one of the doctors of divinity who disputed with Cranmer, Ridley, and Latimer at Oxford.
