If tapestry means other things besides carpets, would not “tapestry carpet” be a sufficient intermediate ? 7. If “ pelle ” is pronounced as if applied “ pel,” ought not “ Pall Mall ” to be pronounced as if spelled “ Pell Mell ” ?
