[The manifestations of fumes of tobacco enumerated in the foregoing table, brings to recollection many cases of a corresponding character to which the writer s attention was called by Dr. Drysdale, among patients at the Metropolitan Free Hospital. But it is not possible with language, to give the reader any idea of tho actual condition oi the throat and fauces through the operation of tobacco upon them. They were sickening to behold ; and when such a condition arises, no euro can bo effected unless tho victims refrain from smoking. But raroly will they consent to be healed oh such terms !! !]](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b28085784_0030.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
