    FORM OF BEQUEST. I Bequeath to the Royae Albert Institution at Lancaster the sum of free of duty, to be applicable for the purposes of such Institution, and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer'or other proper officer for the time being of such Institution shall be a sufficient discharge for the same. I devise my [describe the property fully] free of duty, unto the Royal Albert Institution at Lancaster, for all my estate and interest therein, the same to be for the absolute use and benefit of the said Institution and applicable for the purposes thereof.* * Formerly a Testator could leave only money to a Charitable Institu¬ tion, but now he can also devise real estate (that is land, houses and other buildings, and chief rents) to such an Institution. VOTING REGULATIONS. Each County shares in the benefits of the Institution in proportion to the amount of its contributions, and the CENTRAL COMMITTEE most earnestly APPEAL for DONATIONS and SUBSCRIPTIONS, in order that full advantage may be taken of the accommodation, which now equals about 850 beds. Free patients are periodically elected by the votes of contributors, and are received for seven years or more, subject to the rules and regulations of the Institution. Suitable cases are eligible for re-election for a further period. At every election to fill vacancies for their respective Counties, Donors and Subscribers are entitled to one life-vote for every five guineas given in donations, and to an annual vote for each half-guinea subscribed annually by them to the funds of the Institution. For higher sums the votes increase in the same proportion. Smaller amounts are gratefully received. Every Secretary of a County or Local Committee, and every Secretary, Treasurer or District Receiver of a Ladies’ Association, receives two votes for services in such capacity; and each Collector of not less than 10s. 6d. per annum is entitled to one vote for collecting, and to an additional vote for every £2 12s. 6d. collected annually in subscriptions and donations. Collecting books may be had on application to the Secretary. Annual subscriptions are renewable on the first day of January or July, and continue until their cessation is notified. Legacies are invested for the permanent benefit of the Institution. Cheques and Money Orders should be made payable to the Secretary, The Royal Albert Institution, Lancaster; or to the General Treasurers, District Bank Limited, LANCASTER. Early intimation of money paid into Local Banks should be sent to the Secretary, in order that the usual official acknowledgment may promptly be made. The Royal Albert Institution is open for Inspection on any day by appointment with the Medical Superintendent.
