![r [ 59 ] ^he following faBs will beji determine how far I a?n jufified in favouring the opinion of the fuperior e^ccellenca of the Red Bark, Edward Virgoe, aged, 21, had la- boured under an Intermittent Fever fve mont:hs. It was firfl: a Biertiaii and after- wards became a regular ^otidian, accom- panied with Cough, Dyfpnosa, and Hoarfc- nefs, particularly in the paroxyfm. The common Peruvian Bark, given in the dofe of one dram every hour, prevented the re- turn of the paroxyfm for a few daysj the patient however relapfed notwith- flanding the Bark was continued, he wa^ at laft cured by taking one dram of the Red Bark every fecond hour for the (pace ' of ten days.
