Alterations were made y and additional apparatus installed, in the X-Rays Department. This included a nev; large-output processing plant, new tubes and chest film equipment and a 100 lcilo-volt output mobile unit for use in the operating theatre .and at rhe bedside. Rehabilitation was still further developed by the opening of an Occupational Therapy Department with a full-time Occupational Therapist in chorge0 In order to co-ordinato hospital development and services in South Staffordshire, North Worcestershire and East Shropshire a West Midlands Joint Hospital Advisory Council was set up, comprising -equal representation of the Local Authorities and Voluntary Hospitals in the area* In syrrythy, with this aim, the West Bromwich Corporation .and the Health Committee are active members of the Council. The Government, recognising that health is a national concern, is engaged, in consultation, with the Medical profession, in drafting plans for a comprehensive health service. Whatever the final details of method, the key-note of this plan will be the widest and fullest co-ordination of he alt h car d ho s pit al ser vi ce s, vh.i c h w ill be avai lab 1 c to all. The war, both in its national and in ter-national aspects has taught the vital necessity for the fullest cc-oneration and in t o gr at ion of effort.
