The Snperintendent-Fegistrar informs me that during the year ended 31st December, 1937, the number of marriages in the Borough was 808. The marriage-rate was 19-62 per 1,000 of the population. Unemployment. The Manager of the Employment Exchange informs me that the decline in unemployment in the Borough during the year 1936 continued until the August holiday, 1937, but thereafter tended to increase.
