The incidence rates and death rate, compare favourably with those for England and Wales ; in regard to death rates, particulars in regard to rural districts are not given separate- ly for England and Wales, there is therefore no correct comparison The incidence rate should be less in rural districts, as there is not the same opportunity for spread of infection on ac- count of the isolation of the inhabitants. Reference will be made later to Isolation Hospital ac- commodation. Diphtheria: During the last 5 years the number of notifications in the Urban Districts of the County were as fol- lows :—1921, 4 ; 1922, 17 ; 1923, 15 ; 1924, 7 ; 1925, none.
