    MEDICAL REPORT. During the year there have been resident four hundred and ten patients, of whom eighty-eight were admitted since last Deport. An equal number has, during the same period, been removed in various conditions, leaving three hundred and twenty-two persons in the house— the number being exactly the same at the termination of the year as at the beginning. The average number of residents has, however, been greater; having risen from three hundred and eighteen to three hundred and twenty-three. The applicants for admission have also been more confined to the district than was formerly the case, the proportion of patients from beyond the County being but small, although the number of private cases has been quite as large as before, amounting to about thirty per cent, of the whole. Of the eighty-eight cases removed in various states, forty-eight have been discharged recovered, after periods of treatment varying from a month to nearly eight years, and have, with scarcely an exception, kept well since their enlargement.
