Of these deaths, 32 occurred in the urban districts, or o'oG per 1,000, and 23 in the rural districts, producing a rate of o'lo per 1,000. Arrangements were made by the School ]\Iedical Officer to systematically swab the children in the schools whereby many “ carriers ” were brought to light, who, in every instance, were suffering from enlarged tonsils and adenoids.
