Description

A billhead, dated 1835, for products bought by Captain John Edgcumbe from John Prout. The billhead has two etchings: one depicting sheep, cattle and horses, and one depicting a man in Chinese dress sitting on a crate with a pagoda and a sailing ship behind him. Surrounding the etchings are lists of products offered by John Prout, including: prescriptions accurately prepared; genuine teas, coffees &c.; patent medicines; horse and cattle medicines; foreign fruits and spices; bacon, butter &c.; oils and colours; ginger beer and soda water; lamp oils, mould and other candles.
