About this work
Description
Mellanby film compilation 5 is made up of reels 3, 6 and 10 of the original films. It contains footage of nutritional experiments which detail the effects of various controlled diets on gait and general behaviour of dogs. Title frames give details of the animals diets. Here, in particular investigations are made to see if hysteria can be produced by giving dogs diets containing bleached and improved flour. We see footage of a dog showing varying degrees of 'hysteria' leading to an epileptiform fit.
