Pue care is to be taken, however, to cl< anfe it very well before the dref- fings are applied, by walhingit firlt with an emollient bath, and then with a weak folutioo of Goulard's extract!; if the edges of the ulcer become high an I callous, or if any pr >ud or pro ubcran flefh arifes, the freq lent application of a little hue ftone or ied precipitate will be nccef- fary. Very foul ulcers a*e e'eanfed moft readily by wafhing them d ilj with a li t e tincture of myrrh, and then apply- ing a poultice of ficlh ca fava-root morning and evening.
