Herpes confifts in an eruption of broad itch fpots, here and there, over the fkin, of a whitifh o red colour, which at la.1 unite together, and difcharg a,thin ferous fluid. After a certain time, they for fcurfy fcales which peel off, and leave the fuiface bej| low red ; the fame appearances, however, are apt t be renewed in a fucceflive feries till the difeafe is eithe cured, or fpontaneoufly departs. The health, at th fam-2 time, remains, in other refpecls, perfectly found but fornetimes thefe cutaneous difeafes are obferved t be attended with deprefuon of fpirits.
