![[ 3] I Quantity of Urine to force it, it always palled with more or Ids Fain, according to the Size of the j Stone, till about the beginning of January 1732; at which Time I had a moll fevere and tedious Fit. When the Stone fell into my Bladder, after a proper i| Time, I endeavoured to void it as ufual, but found it was too large to pals: I afterwards made fre- 1 quent Efforts to bring it away, but to no Purpofe, It gave me a good deal of Pain, efpecially when I made Water or went to Stool, which increafed by i Time, as I fuppofe the Stone did. I continued fome Years growing ftill worfe, often confined to my Bed in great Pain. In October and November ; 1736, I was in great Affliction, and forced to keep my Bed for good and all, when a worthy Gentle¬ man in this Neighbourhood being acquainted with my Mifery, and hearing in London that the Hon. 1 Mr. Carteret, received great Benefit by your Medi- 1 tines, prevailed with me to have a Horfe-Litter from London. Indeed my Spirits were fo low and my Pain fo great, I had little Inclination to move, but upon the Gentleman’s Perfuafion, I at laft fubmitted to be carried to Town, and began to take your Medicines about the fifth or fixth of December 1736. They were a little difagreeabie at firft, but after fome Time they became fo offen- five to my Stomach, that I could hardly keep them down. In a Month or five Weeks, white Flakes of hard Stone began to come from me, and at Times continued to do fo till the 8 th of February following, when a large Stone got into the Neck of my Bladder, and gave me great Pain for eight or nine Hours; after which it puffed, and my Blad¬ der remained for fome Time very Eafy.
