    Neck of my Bladder, and as I thought, in the oblique Infertion of the Ureter into it, which conti¬ nued fo long without voiding any Thing, that I did not think tnyfelf in the leaft Eafier, than when I began. After taking the Medicines about feven Months, I v/as feized with a violent Fever, which obliged me to difcontinue them, yet in a little Time I voided a great many white and red Pieces of Stone, perhaps Twenty or Thirty, wTich I am perfuaded came from my Kidneys, and wrere the EfFed of the Medicines I had taken. When my j| Fever was over, and I could bear being removed, I was carried into the Country in a very wreak and low Condition, with much Pain kill at the Neck of my Bladder, occafioned as I afterwards found, by a ragged Flake of Stone which lodged there, and which I voided about the Beginning of September 1737 ; after which I was very eafy in my Bladder, though not always fo in my Kidneys. And when I v/as capable of being helped on Horfeback, I did: not find any Complaint upon trotting my Horfe as \ Ml as my other Indifpofition would allow me. I have been eafy in my Bladder ever fince, and am perfuaded my Kidneys would have been much eafier, if my ‘Fever had then allowed me to ufe your Medicines longer •, which I apprehend do not pro¬ duce their EfFed fo foon in the Kidney as in the Bladder, becaufe that in the latter, they flay with the Urine a long while, and thereby have Time* to ad: upon the Stone; whereas in the former, they only drop in fmall Quantities on the Stone in their Pafiage. I may be tedious and too Partial-: lar, but I think I could not do you Juf ice with¬ out being very Particular, as I was not for forrie Time fenfible of the whole Benefit which I after¬ wards enjoyed.
