About this work
Description
Kay Atherton was mugged on her way home four years ago. She had a heart attack which caused the oxygen to her brain to be cut off and left her with severe brain damage which means her memory clears itself every five minutes. At the time of the mugging Kay's daughter Jess was eleven and that's how old she remains in Kay's mind. This programme shows how the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust in Liverpool are attempting to help Kay. We also meet another patient there, Robert, who had a severe stroke and is now left with aggressive and obsessive behavioural problems.
