![/ ^ CONDITIONS OF SALE. I. The highest Bidder to be the Buyer; and if any dispute arise between two or more Bidders, the Lot so disputed shall be immediately put up again and re-sold. TI. No person to advance less than I5.; above Five Pounds, 2s. Qd.; and so on in proportion. III. The Purchasers to give in their Names and Places of Abode, and to pay down 5s. in the Pound, if required, in Part Payment of the Purchase-money; in Default of which the Lot or Lots so purchased to be immediately put up again and re-sold. IV. The Lots to be taken away at the Buyer’s Expense, with all faults and errors of description, within One Day after the conclusion of the Sale ; and the remainder of the Purchase-money to be absolutely paid on or before Delivery ; in default of which Mr. Fletcher will not hold himself responsible, if lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise destroyed, but they will be left at the sole risk of the Purchaser. V. Upon Failure of complying wdth the above Conditions the money deposited in Part of Payment shall be forfeited ; and all Lots uncleared within the time aforesaid, shall be re-sold by public or private Sale ; and the Deficiency (if any) arising from such re-sale, shall be made good by the Defaulter at this Sale, together with all charges attending the same. VI. All the Books which are described in the Catalogue as in any way imperfect, and those volumes which are not specified in the Catalogue, together with all Manuscripts, will be sold with all faults. VII. The Books are presumed to be perfect, unless otherwise expressed in the Catalogue, or at the Time of Sale ; but if upon collating, at the place of sale, they should prove defective, the Purchaser will be at liberty to take or reject them ; but the Sale of any Book or Books is not to be set aside on account of any Stained or Short Leaves. Gentlemen who cannot attend the Sale, may have their Com- missions faithfully executed by their obedient Servant, J. FLETCHER. Mr Fletcher begs respectfully to inform the Public, particu- larly Gentlemen of the Legal Profession, Executors, Assignees, and others who may be solicitous of a speedy and advantageous disposal of Libraries, Collections of Music, Prints, Pictures, &c. that every care and attention is bestowed by him on the arranging and cataloguing property entrusted to him for Sale, the advan- tages presented by the central situation of his premises, and his extensive connection, ensuring the very best prices. Mr. Fletcher begs to add, that Gentlemen may be accommodated with three-fourths of the real value, immediately on the property being lodged in his possession, and those residing at a distance may depend upon the sale accounts being remitted to them, w/f/i the balance in cask within fourteen days after the sale ; and the accounts and proceeds of sales of furniture and effects will be uniformly rendered, without delay.
