(38°C.) occurring once during each of two twenty-four hour periods following delivery or remaining elevated longer than 24 hours, excluding the first 24 hours after delivery, unless the rise in temperature is definitely proven to be due to other causes, such as mastitis, pyelitis, or intercurrent infection. Morbidity includes all cases of Puerperal Infection and all those febrile from other causes. A temperature elevated to 100.4°F. (38°C.) once, or of only 24 hours duration, is a One Day Fever, and not included in the morbidity figure. The temperatures are taken on the Indoor Service as follows: 6-10 a.m., 2-6-10 p.m., unless otherwise ordered. The temperature on the Outdoor Services are taken by the visiting nurse once a day at the time of her routine visit, unless otherwise ordered.
