With this system a con- tiuous volume of hot air is passed through the closets at the rate of 1,000 to 2,000 cubic feet per minute and at a temperature from 100 deg. to Detail of Channels and Gratings in Laundry Floors. 150 deg. Fahr., according to the size of the heater and fan. The same system may also be applied to open drying and airing rooms. Strong tables are required around the walls and in the centre of the room for ironing clothes upon. In connection with this room provide an airing Section of Drying Closets, No. 2. stove for heating the irons. The Factory Act requires all ironing stoves to be placed in a recess, with a brick wall or other fireproof protection around the same, and though these buildings do not come under the Factory Act, I think this precaution should in all cases be adopted. —3—\—5—5—u—i—s—;—x Plan of Drying Closets. An office is necessary for the head laundress, and should be situated to command a full view at all times of the whole of the laundry.
