The Calais-Mediterranean train de luxe (which for one season ran to San Remo) now stops short at Ventimille ; and San Remo is not reached till 2.5 p.m. Travellers via Turin are advised to break the journey at that city, spending the night there, and going on by 8 a.m. next morning, reaching San Remo at 3.3 p.m. The Savona line is remarkably picturesque and worth travelling through in the daytime.
