Do inform the Society at once if any allegations are made against you, and if you receive a_ solicitor’s letter. Do exercise great care in giving certificates. Do keep notes of cases and make sure that all records are accurate. Do keep any material which has a possible bear- ing on’ a. case; e@/¢.,. the remaining part of a broken needle. Do obtain an X-ray report whenever practic- able in all cases of possible fracture, Do make yourself familiar with your obligations under any contract into which you enter. Do see that your partners and assistants are mem- bers of a recognised pro- tection society. Do pay your subscription immediately it falls due, or make use of a banker’s order for this purpose— it saves you trouble. Wo DO: NOT— Do not disclose to patients or their solicitors that you are a member of ~ this Society. Do not reply to any letter from a patient or solicitor which threatens proceed- ings or makes allegations against you—send it to the Society with full details. is imminent before getting into touch with the Society. Do not commence litiga- tion against a _ patient without first consulting the Society. Do not commit breaches of professional secrecy. Do not give information to the Police concerning possible criminal offences in connection with your patients, e.g., miscarriages, without, first consulting the Society.
