![Drainage and Sewerage. The whole of the drainage of the district is carried out on the water carriage system, and all the sewage, with the exception of that from the small low-lying district of Lomeshaye, is delivered at the Sewage Works situated at Linedred by means of a high level gravitating sewer. The sewage from the Lomeshaye district is carried by a low level sewer, and is lifted into the high level sewer by means of automatic ejectors, situated at the works. The treat¬ ment is biological, consisting in the use of detritus tanks in duplicate htted with mechanical screening and dredging apparatus, septic tanks, percolating filters, sedimentation tanks and strainers. The sludge from the septic tanks is pressed with lime, and that from the sedimentation tanks is air dried, and both are disposed of to farmers. Dry weather flow . 1,250,000 gallons per day.
