The TWENTY-EIGHTH REPORT of the Committee of Visitors of the Lunatic Asylum for the County of Middlesex, situate at HanwelL The Visitors are thankful in being- able to report that the Asylum has been free from any Epidemic during the past year, and that the health of the Patients has been ordinarily good. The number of Patients in the Asylum on the 31st December, 1872, was 1,795 ; of whom 700 were Males, and 1,095 Females ; 6 Males and 6 Females also on the books, were out on probation, being a decrease of two. At the same period in 1871, the number was 1,797, of whom 701 were males, and 1,096 Females. In 1872, the numbers admitted were 301, of whom 121 were Males and 180 Females; of these, 17 Males and 11 Females were cases of re-admission, being a decrease of 244.
