ROI)E]S”r DESTRUCTION: This work has been continued with determination and the total number of rats destroyed during the year, including those presumed to have been exterminated in the course of the systematic treatment of the sewers, must be near the tour thousand mark. EOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1938: The number of samples of Foods and Drugs submitted to the Public analyst for analysis was 231, and of this number 42 were the subject of adverse reports. Proceedings were taken in two cases of milk found to contain added water. iMost of the other offences were contraventions of the various Fo'od Labelling Orders.
