Among the medical gentlemen, who profecuted tliefe inquiries, Drs. Pearson and YVoodville have diltinguished themfelves; and honour is due to them for the zeal they have shewn upon this occafion, for improving the medical fcience. Dr. Pearfon shortly after Dr. Jennei’s publication, favoured the public with a treatife, intitled: An Inquiry- concerning the Iliftory of the Coir pox, principally with a, view to fuperfede and extinguish the Smallpox. In this little ex- cellent work, every propohtion advanced by Dr. Jenner is minuttly confidered, tliefe Dr. Pearfon confirmed not only by his own experience, but likewife with commu- nications he was favoured with from feveral refpectable Authorities, and principally from the B.evd.
