Extremely rare £190 One of the varest of Thackeray’s works to find in its original state ; this is important, as the tllustvation by Thackeray of Napoleon, on the cover, was never reprinted. At the time of writing this pamphlet Thackeray had not become famous. He was in Paris ~ when Napoleon’s body was brought there from St. Helena. Although this is one of his finest pieces of descriptive writing he realized nothing from its sale, and it became lost to circulation immediately. 373 THACKERAY (W. M.)
