Charles petton, ee The follawiig notes are alll i in Cotton’ s hand :— On page 96, the word “ dons ”’ is altered to ' ‘ done.” On page 109, beneath the poem is written “ trans.” This word also occurs on pages 179, 200, 448, 469, 486, and 493. On page 491 there is a note, and the last page is signed “ Charles Cotton:”’ An unique item of the highest literary interest. Accompanying this book ts a@ letter from the Bodleian Library, in hick they state that # is not much doubt that the Cotton annotations are genurne, and that he translated Witsice poems. ;
