![H.R.H. the Duke of Edinburgh in India. attendance on His Excellency the Viceroy and H.E.H. the Duke of Edinburgh. Embarking in a richly decorated barge, composed of double boats, propelled by hand-worked paddle wheels, they proceeded some distance down the river, to obtain a view of the city, and then landing at one of the ghauts, walked through the' narrow streets and inspected the bazaars, mosques, and temples, all of which were gaily decorated for the occasion. A procession of gaily caparisoned elephants was then formed, and His Excellency and H.R.H., attended by the Civil and Military Officers and the Staff, proceeded to the Commissioner's house, by whom they were enter- tained. The weather has been unusually warm for the season, and the rapidly gathering clouds betoken approaching rain. The Camp moves on to Chukia to-morrow. January 18th.
