![UmAL REPORT OF EJMG-INEER MID SURVEYOR FOR YEAR EiroiNG- 31 ST DECEIvffiER, 1959 SEWA&E DISPOSAL Mi dele over ''Bxmkers” As reported last year this scheme was commenced on the 15th Septem¬ ber, 1958, and was necessitated through the existing works being badly overloaded, due to the increasing development at MicldLeover and the subsequent pollution of the Hell Brooke Progress has been satisfactorily maintained, all sludge beds have been completed and ten were commissioned in June„ Two filters were commissioned in September and the third filter is under construction The humus tanl: and the pumphouse shell are completed and the storm tanlc was completed and commissioned in June. During the whole of these works the existing units on the works have been maintained in operation. Egginton Sewage Disposal Agreement was reached vd-th a Land O^'mer in the Parish to acquire an area of land adjacent to some gravel wor]d.ngs, and a scheme was prepared for the construction of a pair of Sedimentation Tanlcs alongside the Council’s 12” diameter outfall sewer to the Egginton Brook. The contract started on the 7th September, 1959, and the tanks completed, although*they have not as yet been connected up to the sewer. Drakelov; Sewerage and Sewage Disposal Scheme Work was commenced on this contract on the 4th May, 1959, and was completed on the 31st December, 1959» Scheme Detailed plans are being prepared by the Council’s Consultants for this scheme for submission to the Minister for approval. Messrs. YiTimpey's Ltd., Housing Development, Miclcleover Sewage Pumping Station As reported last year the above Pumping Station v/as completed and two of the three pumps, with a total output of 36O &.P.iv'L, were installed. It v/as arranged with the contractors that as further development required it, a third pump v/ould be installed which would then allow for a standby. A.t the same time the foul sewage from an adjoining estate vdiich flowed to a separate pumping station v;as disconnected therefrom and connected to this pimnping station of Messrs. Wimpey’s. The pumps from the obsolete station have been removed and are being adjusted and will be installed at Moira Road, Overseal, pumping station. This third pump has now been installed, tested and found to be quite satisfactory. Messrs.
