So, if the student of inorganic nature would thoroughly investigate a science, he must first acquire its principles, and he will then find little difficulty in estimating the importance and relations of the details. We, therefore, shall best meet the wants of our readers, by giving our principal attention to the fundamental truths of the science of Electricity, hoping that the reader will not want for an incitement to further inquiry, when these have been acquired. In this volume we shall attempt to detail some of the most important facts relating to common, or ordi- nary Electricity.
