The firil is efFeded by- cooling and gentle evacuations, as lacJulphuris and magnefta, infujum fenna and tartarum foJu- lite^ magnefm 2.Vid. rhuharh, r/ianna, Src, with a great abftinence from all liquids, efpecially fuch as caudle, or any thing flimulant. III. A gentle perfpiration may be likewife excited by volatile, faline, neutralifed reme- dies ; Jfirltus Mindereri, mlftura camphoratay &c. Spin I lis niiri dulcis is a proper diuretic for the fame purpofe. The diet likewife fhould be antiphlogiftic, unlefs contra-indicated by fome particular circumilance; and the breads may be rubbed w^ith oleum camphoratum^ folu^ tions of camphor made with blanched almonds, 2indiJpirUus Minder eri, &:c., three or four times a day. Thefe methods, if early and judiciouily ap- plied, will avert all ill confequences to the breaft during childbed.
