![In addition to tliese books and larger inenioirs, I ha\e contributed a number of papers to the general literature of my subject, and have also i)ublished shorter com- munications on points of interest which suggested themselves in the c(mrse of my work. Of the chief of these I append a list. In i()o6 1 was invited to co-operate with Professors Schafer and Symington in the issue of a new edition of “ Ouain’s Anatomy,” the classical English Textbook of Advanced Anatomy. The first volume on Iluman Embryology was entirely rewritten by me for this edition, and sui)plied with a completely new series of illustrations, most of them original. I am at j^resent engaged on the volume dealing w'ith Osteology and .-Vrthrology. 1 have further interested myself in Anthro]:)ologv, more especially in that branch of the subject which concerns itself with the studv, from the Anatomist’s point of view, of prehistoric man. In this connection I have from time to time during the past ten years C(jn- ducted explorations of the cairns and grave mounds oi the Clyde area. d'hese investigations have necessarily led me into the domain of Archaeology, and perhaps 1 may be per- mitted to remind your Lordship that my experience in this field of scientific inquiry led to an invitation to join the recently appointed Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland. I may add that I am Examiner in .Vnatomy and Com- parative Anatomy for the Eellowship of the Eaculty of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow; Examiner in Anatomy to the conjoint Board of the Scottish Colleges; and lixternal Examiner in Anatomy in the University of Shefheld. I am a Eellow' of the Royal Society of Edin- burgh ; and also of the h'acidty of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow'.](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b24933144_0009.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
