![ACQLTA-BOLLt; ACQUA-SANTA (TERME DI). famous in E-oman times, and much frequented. Owing to the copious supply, the water is being constantly renovated in the baths. The establishment contains four large swimming baths, without incluiluig the commoner baths for soldiers and the poor. There are also 200 separate baths, with dressing-rooms, pavilions for families, cold and sulphurous water douches, iidialation chambers and a large restaurant, at which the prices are moderate. Special indications : Gravel and calculous aifections of the urinary and digestive organs. Acq.ua-Puzzolente-di-Ijivorno.—Italy, Tuscany, near Lesfhorn. Sulphuro-saliue waters, varying in temperature, according to the season, from 50° to 75° F. Special indications: Scabies, herpes, eczema, and other skin diseases, scrofulous and rheumatic affections. Acqua-Raineri ana.—Italy, Padova, near Venice, in the vicinity of the volcanic lake of Arqua. Sulphurous waters, 70° F., containing a considerable quantity ■of free sulphuretted hydrogen. Special in dications : Skin diseases such as herpes and psoriasis, scrofulous alTectiors, and debility of the digestive organs. Notwithstanding its disagreeable taste, the water is chiefly used internally ; if used externally, it is generally mixed with sea water. ACQua Rossa, Italian Switzerland, Canton Tessin. Popuhition 1,200. Sulphate of lime and ferruginous waters. Doctor: Dr. Soffianti. Acqua-Santa (Terme di).—Italy, province of Ascoli-Piceno. Hallway to St. Benedetto del Tronto, thence by carriage, 4| hours. Omnibus, ;? fcs. each person. Cariages, one horse, 15 fcs.; two horses, 25 fcs. 1,200 feet above sea level. Saline-sulphurous waters, with traces of bromine and iodine, 85° F.; steam, shower and mud baths. Inhalation. Season : June-September. Special indications : Chronic inflammatioti of the skin, mus- <;ular and articular rheumatism, syphilis, scrofula. The establishment built in 1843 has been recently furnished with all modern appliances. Several hotels, and pensions ranging from 6 fcs. to 10 fcs. a day.
