Rub the dry ingredients together, and keep the product in a covered vessel. When the confection is to be iised, rub 5 parts by weight of the powder with 4 similar parts by weight of the water, in a mortar, until incorporated. The strength, and therefore the dose, are similar to those of the old confection of the London Pharmacopoeia. Dose.—60 to 120 grains. It contains I part of pepper in 9 parts.
