    The word occlusal is selected in preference to the more usual term crown, whenever the masti- cating surface of a bicuspid or molar is indicated, for the word crown really includes the whole of the exposed surfaces, viz., mesial, distal, buccal, and lingual, as well as masticating or occlusal.
